Featuring former and current members of Teratism, Wraithian & Grand Demise Of Civilization. Atrum Inritus have put forth some killer, trance inducing Black Metal. The sound and mix is excellent, dark and eerie. And the songs speak for themselves. A damn fine first release from Atrum Inritus and Alter Of The Dead Prod.

If I could ever get my hands on a UFO and some killer acid, I would cruise the cosmo's jam'n to Wolves In The Throne Room. This is by far some of the most interesting Blackened Death Doom Metal I've heard in a while. Celestial Lineage is the final opus of a concept project that spans 3 albums. The Weaver brothers have put forth some excellent mind altering music.

Oh what fun it is listening to Nemesis Irae. Reminiscent of early Desaster (Germany), Coroner (Switzerland) and just a hint of Venom (UK), Nemesis Irae has put forth a very unique and interesting album. Without sounding like a cut'n paste clone band that seems to be the trend these day's, Nemesis Irae blend'n apply there own interpretation and originality into their Metal, resulting in Blasphemy Desecration Satanic Supremacy Misanthrophy.

At last, some new battle hymns from the mighty Marduk. Although just an EP, something is better than nothing. But this EP was well worth the wait. Two fast songs and one mid paced doomy song, done in classic Marduk style. If this is a sample of what's to come, then the next album will surely shred as much as Iron Dawn does.

I always enjoyed UDO's true grit vocal style, you know it when you hear it. Rev-Raptor is a Hard Rock'n release, done in the true spirit of the 80's. It even has a ballad which is not bad. All the songs have a unique quality to them, so far one of UDO's most solid efforts. So if you ever in the mood for some hard hitting ball's to the wall Heavy Metal, UDO's Rev Raptor will remind you what Hard and Heavy Metal was like...and should be.

Well, this was very interesting, because I am not a fan of "live" albums. But listening to Voivod's Warriors of Ice was a total pleasure. Not to much chatter, or crowd participation. Nor was the crowd level higher than Voivod's instruments. These are just a few of my pet peeves when it comes to live albums. Warrior's of Ice is the best live recording I've heard in a long time. Voivod's performance at this show must have been Godly. Master's of Technical Thrash Metal? Hell yeah they are.

Goreaphobia return with Apocalyptic Necromancy, drenched in classic old school Death Metal. You can definitely hear the Celtic Frost, Venom and Bathory influence at work here. Powerful mid to fast paced crushing riffs, the overall sound takes me back to the day's when Death Metal was just starting out. With a well produced sound, that brings out an edgy raw feel to the music. Everything blends together smoothly, from the short guitar solo's to the deep double bass playing. To say the least, Goreaphobia has done it again, Apocalyptic Necromancy is some killer Death Metal.

Pestilence is back with a new plague of Technical Thrash Metal that is sure to have you screaming for a medic. Pestilence's CD "Doctrine" will hopefully infect a generation of metalcrap bands on how to think outside the box. "Doctrine" definitely has a concept feel to it, begging to be heard from beginning to end. It's the only way to capture the full effect Pestilence has put together in this release. With an excellent production and overall sound, Pestilence blend touches of ambient atmosphere with bone crushing riffs, in a way as not to bore you to death. The intricate drumming style of new comer Yuma Van Eekelen is interesting and well done. His double bass click's right along with the music, and is not overdone. Hopefully, someday, Pestilence will come back to Houston and do a show. O'yeah, I was there...

Panzerchrist blast out another 12 rounds of brain splattering Metal brutality. On this release Panzerchrist bring in new recruit, Magnus Jorgensen on vocals. Magnus does an excellent job, providing killer guttural death growls and hellish shrieks throughout this release. Regiment Ragnarok does not break any new ground, but continue to bring the Panzerchrist brand of battle proven traditional Death Metal. I for one, am looking forward to seeing Panzerchrist on this tour.
